2009 Oak Ridge Atomic Kids Triathlon:
Race Location:
Parking lot of Oak Ridge outdoor pool on the corner of Robertsville Road & Providence Road (one block west of the O.R. Turnpike – Highway #95 – and ‘behind’ the O.R. High School).
It is best if you arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the race (to ‘register’, set-up, and relax).

Race Course Information:
Swim is an ‘out and back’ in the Oak Ridge outdoor pool –
200 meters is a ‘long’ swim – please be sure to have your child practice this distance –
Participant may stand on the pool bottom during the race if he/she is tired; but, may not advance forward.
Bike is a relatively flat ‘L’ shaped route – ½ mile out and ½ mile back on Providence, then ½ mile out and ½ mile back on Robertsville.
Helmet is mandatory.
Be sure that bike is in safe condition.
Run is ½ mile out and ½ mile back on Providence.
There is one very gradual hill (in front of OR high school) – the rest of the course is flat.
There will be course monitors and water stations; however, the police department will not shut down the roads. Please be sure to explain to your children the importance of staying on course and away from possible street traffic.

NOTE:
A parent or adult guardian must be at the race site at all times during the event. However, you are not allowed to help your child during the event – either on the course or in the transition area.
There will be course officials and monitors who will aid those in need of assistance.
