     OVERVIEW: Flying Colors Sports is proud to present the GREAT AMAZING RACE for YOUTH to build healthier and more active families!  Touring all 30 NFL cities in 2012, we are committed to providing opportunities for adults (parents, grandparents, siblings, mentors, etc.) to get active with their kids in a fun and exciting atmosphere.

   From start to finish, the race is the most invigorating outdoor activity for families to do together, ever! Whether you run, jog, walk or watch, it'll be an experience you will never forget!  Help us promote awareness and recruit teams by telling your friends, neighbors and co-workers to join in the fun. The top 25 teams qualify for the National Championship Race and a chance to win $2,000!

     WHAT: Patterned after the popular television show The Amazing Race, teams of 2 people (adult/kid, kid/kid or adult /adult) will race around a 1 mile cross country course that includes up to 8 fun-filled stations. The clue cards provided at each station directs the team to perform a task (game, relay, obstacle course, etc.) before proceeding to the next station. The team that completes the tasks and reaches the finish line with the fastest overall time is declared the winner. Contestants should be prepared to get a little dirty and wet - it's part of the fun!

    To ensure fairness and safety of all involved, some of the tasks are slightly modified for youth and senior participants. The course layout is spectator friendly, to allow family and friends to tag along and take photos for the scrap book. This is a rain or shine event!

     WHO: The race is for everyone boys and girls runners, joggers and walkers - pee wees to adults. The race is designed for teams of 2 (adult/kid, kid/kid or adult/adult), kid must be student in grade K-12. Teams can choose either race. Each wave of racers will be grouped by age and start 8-10 minutes apart.

   AWARDS: Every participant who crosses the finish line gets an official time card to recognize their accomplishment. Special awards are given to the winners of each grade division (determined by grade of youngest team member): Grades K-4 Division, Grades 5-12 Division, and Adult Division. The awards will be presented at the main stage, shortly after each race. 

     BENEFITING: Benefiting the ACTIVE30! family initiative which works to improve student academic performance through activities that can be implemented at home, such as, engaging in 30 minutes of physical activity, 30 minutes of healthy eating, and 30 minutes of reading a book, each day at home.
