2012 PTARC Triathlon:

  • This triathlon is open to anyone ages 6 through adult with a team option available to those 18 and up.
  • Awards are presented to top 3 finishers in each age category.
  • Distances will vary by age.
  • The course should be considered beginner or an alternative workout for the day!
  • The race begins in indoor pool then moves to school/public roadways for bicycling and running.
  • Chip timing with 3 splits.
  • 13 and under compete against same gender and same age only.
  • 14 - 17 compete against same gender within the age group.
  • Adults compete against same gender within age group.
  • Adult teams of 3 (swimmer, rider, runner) may be of mixed gender and age.
  • Age of team is determined by combining age of all team members and competition is 105 and under or 106 and over.

    • Course Information:



    Sprint Triathlon:
  • Swim takes place in an indoor pool with heat style starts.
  • Biking and running will be on public roadways.

    Youth Triathlon:
  • All segments take place on high school property.

    Triathlon Race Distances:
  • Ages 6 - 8: Swim 25 yds, Bike .4 mile, Run 14 mile
  • Ages 9 -11: Swim 50 yds, Bike .8 mile, Run 12 mile
  • Ages 12-17: Swim 100 yds, Bike 2 mile, Run 1 mile
  • Ages 18+: Swim 200 yds, Bike 11 mile, Run 3 mile
  • Adult Relay: Swim 200 yds, Bike 11 mile, Run 3 mile - Relay teams consist of 3 participants - (one swimmer, one rider and one runner)
