Description:
|
The PhysathlonTM event combines aerobic/cardiovascular activity (45%) with strength (45%) and freestyle events (10%). The aerobic/cardiovascular activity includes a swim (10%), bike (15%), and run/walk (20%). Unlike the triathlon, you may do any one of the cardiovascular legs with a 10-minute transition. The strength division includes 4-10 repetitions, for ½ squat or dead-lift (bent-knee), bench press, shoulder press, shoulder pull down, and hamstring and arm curls. (At a triathlon there may be a total time score-which is 45%). Weight belts may be used, but weight lifting suits may not be used.
The freestyle activity includes 3 minute push-ups, 4 minute sit-ups, and 2 minute chin-ups (10%). At least a total of 5 strength and 1-3 cardiovascular events must be included. A scoring sheet will be available for the PhysathlonTM. A 1000 point scoring system exists and you must score 100 in each category, except cardiovascular activities, where one cardiovascular event is worth 50 points. You may do more than the minimum number of events for any of the activities. There are male and female, Triathlon, and musculoskeletal divisions, certificates, and medals for all participants and awards in 10 year age groups, and weight classes. T-shirts are available for $20 each. Other events may be added for facility with members who will receive separate awards.
