2012 Tri Hillsboro Triathlon:
Triathlon fanatics invited to prove their skills in cycling, swimming and running.
Are you searching for a reason to get in touch with Mother Nature? Look no further than the Hill County.
The alluringly close-knit Texas town of Hillsboro welcomes athletes near and far to participate in the second annual Tri Hillsboro Triathlon on May 5.
The City of Hillsboro along with the Hillsboro Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the event with proceeds benefiting the youth, education and community initiatives in Hillsboro.

The race begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Dairy Hill Boat launch, Spur 1947 off of FM 1947
Swim: 500 meters
The open water lake swim is out and back.
Go around the buoy an you will be on the home stretch of the swim. - Map
Wetsuits recommended.
Bike: 16.2 miles
The bike will be a easy rolling hill ride on the paved roads of Highways 1534, 933, 310 and 1947.
You won't get slowed down by steep inclines but pick up great speed on the gradual decline. - Map
Run:
The run will be on a closed two lane road with 8 foot shoulder with a great view of the lake. - Map

Go South on I35
Take Exit 364A - FM 310 to Lake Aquilla
Turn Right on FM 310. 5 miles
Turn Right on FM 1947 1 mile
Turn Left on to Spur 1947
OR:
Go South on to I 35
Take exit 370 TX-579-SPUR
Merge right on to Highway 81
Turn right on Elm Street TX-22
Continue on to Highway 22 5.9 miles
Turn right on FM 1947 .03 miles
Turn Right on to Spur 1947
