2012 Westside Y Triathlon:
The "Y Tri" is a great beginner triathlon in the heart of West Knoxville. 200 yard pool swim, followed by a 7 mile bike tour of West Hills neighborhood, then a flat 4k run along West Hills bike path.
Great venue for the entire family.
Expected participation--250.
Proceeds go the YMCA "Save a Life" program.

Course Info:

Swim is 200 yards.
Individual “Time Trial Start” approx. each 5 seconds based on time (fastest first).
Each person is to step into the pool in lane one and swim the length of the pool, duck under the lane lines and swim lane two and so on until you have completed 8 lengths of the pool.
Bike leg is 12K.
Bike racks are on a first come basis.
Place your gear on the side of your DOWN WHEEL.
Hard shell helmets are required at ALL times - even during warm-up!
All competitors will be going through the entire transition area.
NO RIDING IN THE TRANSITION AREA.
Bike will be mounted and dismounted outside transition.
Course is open to traffic.
Please review the bike course map prior to the race.
The route is a two lap course though the West Hills neighborhood offers a surprisingly hilly challenge.
Knoxville Police traffic control and excellent volunteer support at every turn!
Run leg is 4K.
RUNNERS MUST WEAR RACE NUMBER ON FRONT.
Exit transition area & STAY FAR RIGHT.
Runners must cross timing mat in parking lot at beginning of run.
Run is basically an out and back course following the Knoxville Greenway.
There are two turnarounds.
Follow run course per map to finish in front of Gazebo.
Aid stations at approx. mile 1 and 2.

Westside YMCA Triathlon is held at the Westside YMCA located in at 400 N. Winston Road, Knoxville, TN.
Take I-40 West Hills exit, turn right (West) on Kingston Pike, approximately 1/3 mile to right on Winston Road.
Park on left at bottom of hill.
