This is a 104 mile endurance mountain bike event. The course is a 26 mile loop, and is on Forest Service roads. The course is not technically challenging, and is considered a "roadie" mountain bike course...meaning it is beginner friendly(ish) and fast for those with more experience/endurance/EPO/whiskey. There are a few sketchy spots to keep you honest and climbs to make your lungs hurt a bit. All in all you are riding at altitude, in cooler weather, with cool people and camping out - what more can you ask for?
Elevation Info
7674 ft Start Elev
8110.0 ft Max Elev

Awards will be 3 deep in each division. Age groups are male/female in 10 year increments (20-29, 30-39, etc.)
Qualifying slots will be distributed at the Awards Ceremony. There will be 70-100 slots per qualifying event.
Performance Slots 50% of the available slots - The number of slots per division will be announced prior to the race start (70-100 total). The slots are allocated in proportion to the number of registered athletes in each category with at least one per division. One slot will be allocated to the top male and female single speed finishers, and one to the top tandem team.
Roll-down If a competitor chooses not to accept his/her Leadville slots, it will be offered to the best placing finisher in the category, who has not yet received a slot.
Lottery Slots 50% of the available slots - Names will be randomly drawn from a pool of all finishers under the maximum time cutoff. If the person drawn already has a position or declines, another name will be drawn in his/her place.
Qualifying Slot Winners MUST BE PRESENT, as the roll-down qualifiers rule will be in effect at each event. All qualifier slots will be awarded and redeemed on race day. You must pay your entry to the LT100 when you accept your slot. You will have the option to register for the 2012 or 2013 LT100 and must decide when accepting your Qualification Slot. All entries into the LT100 are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
