Course Information:

THE SWIM

The swim will take place in the downtown canal system inside White River State Park.  At only 4 1/2 feet deep, the canal should provide beginner triathletes some relief from the anxiety that many beginners get during the swim.  This point to point swim will be staggered based on swim ability allowing slower swimmers to proceed at a comfortable pace without fear of being ran over by faster swimmers. The swim will exit just steps from the transition area.

THE BIKE

The bike course will take participants through a scenic and fairly flat 8.5 mile loop.  You will complete 2 loops for a total distance of 17 miles. Expect great volunteer and police protection along the way.

THE RUN

The run course will take you across and along the White River passing the Zoo and through downtown Indianapolis. The course is 4 miles long.  Dont worry as we will have hydration stations and signage every mile along the way!

THE TRANSITION

The centerpiece of White River State Park is definitely Celebration Plaza.  With its expansive green space, the plaza will offer beautiful scenery and plenty of space for athletes in transition. The large, flat lawn is only steps from the swim exit and will give you a great location to start/finish each leg of the triathlon.
