The Old Point Tidewater Triathlon is brought to you in partnership with the City of Hampton, Buckroe Beach, Phoebus, and Fort Monroe. There is plenty to see and do in the area so come in Friday night, race on Saturday and see the local attractions the rest of the weekend. Also, be sure to check out the free 1 mile kids fun run starting at 7:30AM in front of the finish line.
Swim Course: Staged out of Buckroe Beach the swim is in the Cheasapeake Bay and features a triangular shaped swim course. It is a 1 loop course with a short beach run to get to the transition area. The course maps show a clockwise loop, but the direction of the swim will be determined race morning depending on the current. The water temp in 2011 was 78 degrees.
Bike Course: This is a fast and flat 2 loop course that in the Hampton portion is completely closed to traffic. The portion on Fort Monroe will be lightly traveled by local traffic only. Athletes will start their second lap in front of the 7-11 in front of the race site.
Run Course: Another fast and flat out and back 2 loop course along the streets to the North of Buckroe Beach. This will be well supported with ice water and HEED every mile.
