This event is a Sprint Triathlon done in reverse. Its a 5K Run, a 20K bike and a 550 meter pool swim. Its set in scenic Fort Benning Georgia with only a few rolling hills. its a great course to start your season off, or for a beginner looking to do their first triathlon. The transition area is located in the parking lot of the family fun Center. The run heads out and goes past the famous Airborne Jump Towers before heading back into transition. The bike course is out and back past the Fort Benning Airfield and along a few rolling hills then back to transition where there is a short. fully carpeted run to the Olympic size pool for the swim. There are no other reverse Sprint Triathlons in Georgia, so gives ours a tri!
Directions:
From the North - take 85 South to 185 south. follow 185 to the front gate at Fort Benning. Show your drivers license at the gate, that is all that is needed now to get on post. Once inside follow 185 until it turns into Dixie (it will merge into Dixie Road just stay to the right). follow Dixie about 2 miles and turn right onto Edwards, then a quick left onto Eckel.
