2012 Lake Minnetonka Triathlon:

The Lake Minnetonka Triathlon is located in one of the most beautiful bays on Lake Minnetonka.

The race will be held at the Excelsior Commons.

The Lake Minnetonka Triathlon is part of the Tri Minnesota Triathlon Racing Series.

Course Info:

Swim:

Half mile swim along the shore of Lake Minnetonka.

Spectators can view the entire swim from the hillside above.

Water temperature at this time is typically a comfortable 70-78 degrees, however wetsuits are legal. - - - Bike:

15 mile out and back bike ride is mostly flat with some rolling hills through Carver County.

All cyclists must observe MN traffic laws.

ANSI or SNELL approved hard-shelled helmets are required.

Drafting is prohibited. - - - Run:

Three mile run along the shores of Lake Minnetonka on the Three Rivers Park light rail trail.

The trail is very flat and made of hard pack clay. - - -

Directions:

Located in one of the most beautiful bays on Lake Minnetonka, the race will be held at the Excelsior Commons.

Take I-494 to Hwy 7 West 6 miles.

Take the Excelsior exit and follow the signs on where to park.

The Excelsior Commons is across from Lake Street & Courtland Street.

Other Info:

The race will take place rain or shine.

If the swim portion of the race cannot be completed due to threatening weather, the race will be converted to a duathlon.

You must bring a photo ID to register for the race.
