2011 Los Alamos Triathlon:

  • The Los Alamos Recreation Division is excited to present the 37th Annual Los Alamos Triathlon on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
  • This signature event, that captures the essence of community and fitness, will be a spectacle for both spectator and participant alike.
  • The race itself consists of a 20k bike, a 400 meter swim, and a 5k run.
  • The Recreation Division is planning to host up to 350 adult competitors split up between individual athletes and two-person and three-person competitors.
  • There will be cash prize money give-aways this year of over $1500 which will be awarded to individual and team competitors.
  • The Recreation Division gratefully welcomes volunteers to help us make this event run smoothly.

    • Course Information:


    20 K Bike, 400 Meter Swim, 5 K Run
  • Elevation 7,400.
  • Hilly out and bike cycling course.
  • 400 meter pool swim (8, 50 meter laps).
  • Out and back run.

    Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center:
  • I-25 North to Santa Fe take the NM285/84 West exit.
  • Head West through Santa Fe to Pojoaque and follow Los Alamos NM502 West exit.
  • In Los Alamos turn right onto Central Avenue and follow to the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.

  • Los Alamos is in northeast-central New Mexico, 110 miles northeast of Albuquerque, and 10 miles north of Las Vegas New Mexico.
