2011 Chestertown Dragonfly Sprint Triathlon:

  • The Dragonfly Heart Camp will host its second annual sprint triathlon in Wilmer Park to benefit the non-profit organizations Summer Camp for children who have received a heart or lung transplant, or who are diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension.
  • The triathlon will be on Sunday, October 16, 2011, and is organized and operated by Bluepoint Timing and Race Management.
  • Registration is now open for individual and relay team entries for the event.
  • Entrants must register by Wednesday, October 11.

  • Dragonfly Heart Camp is a summer camp founded in 2007 by Chestertown resident Rhonda Justice Cataldo.
  • Rhondas daughter Sarah received a heart transplant at the age of eight and the family learned of the challenges that so many patients and their families face with these medical problems.
  • Rhonda was joined by Christi Hetrick, whose daughter Darby battles pulmonary hypertension. Together they have guided the camp through three successful years.
  • This will be year four for the Dragonfly Camp. As Rhonda says, Providing the opportunity for children to be normal kids is extremely rewarding.
  • At camp, these children experience many things for the first time, and most importantly they do so with kids who are just like them. They enjoy activities like swimming, zip line, crafts and kayaking in a risk-free environment.
  • Course Information:
