The race is held at Fontana Dam and benefits the Fontana Foundation. The run courses are mostly flat and both loop right up to the base of Fontana Dam and back to the TA. The bike course is awesome, traveling along Highway 28 beside the Little Tennessee River and up to Deals Gap with a U-turn back to the start. It's a moderate level ride that will result in a sense of achievement when you complete it. The whole race area is absolutely beautiful. Fontana Resort will offer discount accommodations on race weekend, with other moderately prices hotels in the area. There will be live music at the resort on Saturday night before the race, along with many other activities such at White Water Rafting, Zip Lines, Boat rides and more all weekend.

Course Information:
The 5K run course and 2-mile run courses are both along the Little Tennessee River and take you to the base of Fontana Dam and back to the TA. You cross one bridge across the river on the 5K route. The bike course is rolling along the river, so to speak, with one long hill up to Deals Gap to the beginning of the famour Dragons Tail section of Highway 129, where you do a U-turn, experience an exhilirating downhill ride, and then return to the TA
Directions:
Google "Fontana Resort" for directions. The race is 2 miltes from the resort with the Transition Area at the entrance road to Fontana Dam. Parking is available at the race site or the resort will provide shuttle service to the TA.
Other Info:
There will be a group ride along the bike course on Saturday right up to the hill leading up to Deals Gap. Families and spectators are welcome. The hill will be saved for the race on Sunday.
