2011 TriDeltathon Triathlon:

  • A 27 year old event, and the largest triathlon in the greater Knoxville area, with over 400 competing annually.
  • One of the first "pool triathlons" in the country.
  • Excellent beginner event, the TriDeltathon is done in conjunction with the UT Delta Delta Delta sorority, with proceeds going to East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

    • Course Information:


    Swim Leg
  • Individual Time Trial Start approx. each 5 seconds based on time (fastest first).
  • Numbers 1 to 400 must STAY IN NUMBER ORDER.
  • Each person is to step into the pool in lane one and swim the length of the pool, duck under the lane lines and swim lane two and so on until you have completed 8 lengths of the pool.

    Bike Leg
  • Bike racks are on a first come basis except Relays.
  • Your bicycle and any equipment during the race should be left in your space.
  • Hard shell helmets are required at ALL times - even during warm-up!
  • Caution: The bike course contains railroad tracks. Be extremely careful.
  • All competitors will be going through the entire transition area. NO RIDING IN THE TRANSITION AREA.
  • Bike will be mounted and dismounted in parking lot.
  • Course is open to traffic.
  • Please use caution at all intersections.
  • Relay bikes will be in a separate area.
  • Do not rack relay bikes.
  • Please review bike course map prior to the race.

    Run Leg
  • RUNNERS MUST WEAR RACE NUMBER ON FRONT.
  • Exit transition area & STAY FAR RIGHT.
  • Runners must cross timing mat in parking lot at beginning of run.
  • Run to and out Andy Holt Ave & continue straight onto Joe Johnson Walkway.
  • Follow run course per map to finish on Andy Holt at 20th St. Water and Gatorade at aid station at Stadium Drive & Andy Holt- pass 3xs.
  • Finish- Race numbers must be visible on FRONT.
  • Timing chip will be returned and finishers medal received.
  • Please be careful crossing street back to aquatic center parking area.
