TriKauai Triathlons On Kauai, By Kauai, For Kauai April 10, 2011

The TriKauai Triathlon series is hosted by Puuwai and Kukuiula Outrigger Canoe Clubs. These are short distance, Sprint Triathlons with a 1/4 mile swim, 14 mile bike, and 3.5 mile run.

Don't think you're ready for the Triathlon, jump in on our 5K Fun Run/Walk and experience all the joy of being among competitive athletes, with a little work.

Our Race Director Brian Curll is on the Mayors Board of Directors for Get Fit Kauai and we are supportive in creating opportunities for you to challenge yourself to have a healthier body and life. In other words, we will do what is ever necessary for you to complete this event.

If you need to wear a mask and snorkel you can, if you need a tandem bike, bring it. If you need a team partner we will help you find one.

We are a 100% nonprofit volunteer organization, with all the proceeds go to benefit Puuwai and Kukuiulas Children's Paddling Program, feeding the homeless through the Kauai Independent food bank, as well as providing bicycles for Kauai Bikes for Kids, and financing The Kauai Youth Life and Sports Challenge.

Course Information:

Quarter-mile Open ocean swim, 14 mile bike on local roads, 3.5 mile Oceanside run

This is Hawaii water temperature is approximately 72. Wetsuits are not needed but may be worn if you wish. Early daytime temperatures are approximately 74.

Directions:

Poipu Beach Park in front of Brenneckes Restaurant on the right side of the park facing the ocean.

Public parking is provided directly across from the Poipu Beach Park. There is no charge, but it is always wise to lock your car.

Other Info:

Packet pickup will be held the day before the race in Poipu Beach Park from 1 to 5 PM

Awards are given to: 1st, 2nd, 3rd in All Divisions, Individual and Teams Plus Age Groupings

Competitors will be given individual time cards at the conclusion of the race. Total event times will be e-mailed to all competitors on the same day

After race snacks and hydration will be provided as well as an award ceremony, Masseuses are available for tips
