2011 Giant Acorn Sprint Triathlon:
A 10AM start, a crystal clear heated lake along with super fast bike and run courses. What more can you ask for?
Located just 45 minutes SW of Fredericksburg and 45 minutes NW of Richmond at Lake Anna Beach Marina this is the final race of the 2011 Virginia Triathlon Series.

Course Info:

Swim Course: The swim begins with an in water start with the course going around the transition area and the finish line. Your friends and loved ones can walk around the race site and never be more than 150 yards from you as you make the 3 right hand turns that make up the course. This section of Lake Anna is unique in that the water coming into this section is used to cool the power plant and is a good 6-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the lake. The water was 72F in 2006, 77F in 2007, 74F in 2008, 76F in 2009 and 77F in 2010 which is pretty nice for October!
Bike Course: With a right turn out of the marina the bike is all on fresh pavement and is mostly flat with some rolling sections. The best section is mile 1.5-2.0 where you will race across the causeway with water on either side of you.
Run Course: The run is a simple, fast out and back course along the rural roads of Louisa County. The run goes the opposite direction as in years past and ends with about 200 yards of trail running. It's a great addition and it takes runners across the Anna River.
