2011 Island to Island Triathlon:

The Island to Island Tri will quickly become the premier Tri event in the southeastern United States! Besides being set in one of the most beautiful locations on the east coast, the Golden Isles of Georgia, the swim portion of this event is second to none!

The 2011 Island to Island Tri will be run in conjunction with the 9th Annual Jekyll Island Turle Crawl (a Sprint and Olympic distance event) and has been added to challenge the participant looking for a very unique swim.

Teams welcome and can be entered for $300!

USAT sanction pending, add $10 for USAT one-day membership.

Race will benefit the Georgia Turtle Center and various other local charities encouraging kids to get active!

Course Information:

Swim:

The race begins with the swim of swims!

Swim off the northern tip of Jekyll Island to the lighthouse area of St. Simons Island.

The swim leg covers 1.25 miles through a federal shipping channel where swimmers will be aided by a strong incoming, high tide. This is one you don't want to miss!

Bike:

The bike leg winds through beautiful St. Simons Island and goes bridges to bridges, down the St. Simons Island causeway and its two bridges, over the Sidney Lanier Bridge, then onto the Jekyll Island causeway, ending in the oak tree canopy of historical Jekyll Island.

Run:

The run winds 6.2 miles through mostly shady, low traffic areas of Jekyll Island.

The race will be timed and race course monitored throughout.

Hotel accomodations will be available on Jekyll and St. Simons Island.

The Golden Isles of Georgia are easily accessible off Interstate I-95.

Directions to Race:

Take Exit 38 if arriving from the north and Exit 29 if arriving from Florida.
