_ 2016 Lost Loon Triathlon:

The Lost Loon Triathlon is a unique family-friendly competition that encourages all ages to get outdoors and have fun.  This event is not timed and awards are based on enthusiasm.  Racers compete at their own pace and skill level.

Race teams bike on a paved road for 3-9 miles, tandem canoe for 1 1/2 miles on a lake course, and trail run or walk for 2 miles around the lake.  Team members can compete in all legs of the triathlon or divide up the three legs of the race among team members.  Two team members are needed for the tandem canoe portion of the race.  

Canoes, paddles, lifejackets are provided.  Teams can bring their own paddle equipment if they have it.  Teams must bring their own bikes, bike helmets and running shoes.

Registration is open from 8-9 am, announcements 9:15, race start 9:30, lunch & awards 11:00, event is over around noon.

Registration fee is $85 per team and is non-refundable.  Each team receives two adult-sized race shirts.

Course Information:

All legs of the competition take place at Long Hunter State Park at the Couchville Lake recreation area.

Bike portion is on a paved road in the park.  Racers from tots to seniors can compete the distance appropriate for their skill level and at their own pace.  The full route is 3 loops of a 3 mile course or 9 miles total.  Racers must bring their own bikes and bike helmets.  Bike helmets are required for every participant.

Tandem canoe course is about 1 1/2 miles on a buoyed course on Couchville Lake.  Children can ride in the canoe and paddle with their parents.  Park limits are 3 people per canoe.   Canoes, paddles, life jackets are provided.  Race teams can bring their own canoe if they have one.  Fastened life jackets are required for all participants on the water.

Trail run is a 2-mile loop course around Couchville Lake.  Racers can run or walk at their own pace.

Finish line is a Lost Loon tradition and we hope you will join us and find out first hand why have so much fun.

Lost Loon Triathlon is at Long Hunter State Park-Couchville Lake recreation area in Hermitage, TN. 

Address is 2910 Hobson Pike, Hermitage, TN  37076.  Park office phone 615-885-2422.

The park is about 10 miles east of Nashville International Airport.

Interstate travelers can use I-40 (exit 226-A, Mt. Juliet Rd.) or I-24 (exit 62, Old Hickory Blvd) to reach the park.

Please allow 35-40 minutes if driving from Nashville, TN.

Registration closes at 9:00 a.m.
