2016 Crystal Lake Triathlon:
The Crystal Lake triathlon is one of the most scenic race courses in the area. The race begins with a beach start on small, warmer Crystal Lake with a one loop swim. Transition to the bike is lakeside, then off to a gorgeous out and back rolling course through the beautiful countryside of Rensselaer County. Finally, the race finishes on a mostly flat course around the lake.
Course Information:
Crystal Lake is a small scenic beachfront venue. There is plenty of visible spectator space with a kids play area as well.
Directions:
From Albany take route 43 to Averill Park. Once in Averill Park, you will reach an intersection with a flashing yellow light- on the left is a jiffy mart/gas station. Take that sharp left onto old Route 66 (CR45). you will almost immediately see open grassy area on the right - drive in that lot, park and the lake is at the bottom of the hill.
