Soak Up the Sun is one of the most popular super sprint triathlons in the state and is a great race for those who aren't sure if they want to become a triathlete. This race is where most of the triathletes in Central Mississippi got their start. With so many great volunteers at this event, first time participants will leave feeling encouraged and proud of their accomplisment!
The registration fee is $60 until May 21st. The fee increases $10 on May 22nd. . Registration will close on Wednesday May 25th at 8:00pm. The deadline to be guaranteed a t-shirt is Thursday May 12th. Late registration at packet pick-up will be allowed provided the race has not sold out. There will be NO race day registration.

From 3:00 till 7:00 pm.
You will need to present a photo ID You must pick up your packet YOURSELF. You cannot have another person pick up your packet for you.
Race day packet pickup will be available at the race location from 5:30 am - 6:30 am in case you cannot make it to the Friday packet pick-up.
Race Location:
The race will begin and end on the beach at Reunion subdivision located at the end of Reunion Blvd.

Race Day:
Body marking, timing chip pick up, and transition will open at 6:00am. Volunteers will be available to help you with anything you need.
The race will begin at 7:00 am with a mass start of the experienced racers. Next will be a time trial (one by one) swim start for the general age group field (most participants will start here). There will be swim signs posted with swim times, for racers to estimate their swim speed. You will line up in the group according to your estimated swim time/speed. Awards will be handed out after the conclusion of the race.
Timing:
You will receive the electronic chips and ankle straps for racers on the race morning.
Awards:
Age group awards will be given based on 10 year age group categories.
Course:
The race will take place entirely within the Reunion community, except for a short stretch on Gluckstadt Rd on the bike (see map under downloads on the left side of the page). The swim will begin at the beach area next to the restrooms. You will exit the swim on the other side of the beach into transition. Kayaks and lifeguards will be on hand to provide safety.
Spectator Info:
The Beach area will be where the start, finish, and transition area are located. This is the best place to see the action and the most athletes in 1 place. It's also a great place to cheer on the finishers as they cross the finish line for perhaps their first time ever!
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED.
The bike will take place on paved roads and will an out and back course.
The Madison County Sheriff department and volunteers will provide course safety. The roads will be open to traffic, but all intersections will be staffed by volunteers.
The run will be an out and back in the subdivision. There will be one water stop at the turn around point.
