6th Annual Mankato Mud Run - August 13, 2016
The Mankato Mud Run is a 3k and 5k obstacle run. The 5k is a challenging course even for elite runners, while the 3k course is family friendly, and includes a separate kids race where parents can go along for free as chaperone!
The 2016 Mankato Mud Run will be more fun than ever! It is the only family friendly mud run that we are aware of. For 2016, we have added several foam machines to make a 36' foam slide obstacle!
The 5k race is challenging even for elite runners, as it includes two long difficult hills, and the trademark creek run with tunnel.
The 3k course has the Kids race (kids can do the 5k though if they wish), the Adult 3k, and the Team 3k race. It includes all of the same obstacles with the exception of one long hill, and a run through a woods. Walking is permitted, as the race is all about fun!
There will be 2 -3 Mud Pits, the Creek Run, Climbing Walls, Climbing Nets, the popular Run-over-the-Cars obstacle, the Giant Tire obstacle, plus much more. And don't forget to wear your costume for the costume contest!
All entrants recieve a packed Goodie Bag, Racer Shirt, and Custom Stamped metal Finisher Medal!
This race is all about family fun, so bring the whole family!
Course Information:
KIDS RACE (3K):
The kids race is meant for those 16 and under. The race is not timed, and the kids will go off in waves for safety. Parents may go with their children for free, but then are not eligible to receive medals, goodie bags, or t-shirts. The kids race goes first, as the obstacle course tends to get more difficult as the day goes on, as the course gets muddier, and the mud pits get stirred up. Parents can run with their kids as chaperon's, and then run in their own race later.
FAMILY RACE:
The family race is meant for families who want to race together, emphasizing families with children. This race is not timed. Minimum of 4, Maximum of 16 per team. All family members must be directly related.
TEAM/COMPANY 3K RACE:
This race is not timed. It is meant for teams of 4 to 16 members who want to simply do the 3K race, and are more about fun and finishing, and not worried about being chip timed.
ADULT AND KID 3K RACE:
This race is for adult and kids who wish to run the 3K without being on a team or in a family group. It is not timed.
TIMED 5K ELITE RACE (CHIP TIMED):
This race is for the fast runners and prize money. If you think you can compete with the big racers, this one is for you. The wave is open to all though. Prize money and trophies to the top male and female finishers!
5K TEAM AND COMPANY RACE (CHIP TIMED):
If you are on a competitive team, this is the race for you. The top 3 teams will receive trophies. Teams must consist of at least 4, but no more than 16 racers. 4 team members must finish together, and their time will be the one that counts. Costumes encouraged!
ADULT AND KID 5K RACE (CHIP TIMED):
This is the big race for all who want to be timed, and run the full 5K. Kids are welcome to run with the adults in the 5k, as long as their parents feel it is safe for them.
