DAY OF REGISTRATION: Prices will increase to $30, $40 and $50 for the 5km, 10km and 21km distances respectively for day-of registration. Day of registration opens at 6:30AM and will close approximately 10 minutes before the start of the races.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: To reach the Wild Iris Climbers’ Main Parking Lot, drive southeast out of Lander on Main Street/Highway 287/28. Continue on Highway 28 for about 24 miles (near milepost 53), take a right on the dirt Limestone Mountain Road (Forest Service Road 327). Take this road for 1.3 miles to a fork. Take the right fork, switchback up the hill, and park on the left as you crest the ridge (0.8 miles past the fork). There will be a porta-john and one USFS bathroom for your use. Driving time is at least 30 minutes to drive from Lander to the Wild Iris Climbers’ Main Parking Lot.

SCHEDULE:

6:30AM - Day of registration opens at Wild Iris Climbers' Main Parking Lot

7AM - 21km Race Start

7:30AM - 10km & 5k Race Starts

8:30AM - International Climbers' Festival Crag Breakfast

9:30AM - Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in each distance.

5km COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 5km is an out-and-back race that starts from the Wild Iris Climbers’ Main Parking Lot just off of Limestone Mountain Road. The course immediately climbs north on FR327 past the radio towers and then takes a steady rolling descent to the 5km turnaround at the first aid station. From here you turn around and climb back up to the radio towers and descend to the finish.

10km COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 10km is an out-and-back race that starts from the Wild Iris Climbers’ Main Parking Lot just off of Limestone Mountain Road. The course immediately climbs north on FR327 past the radio towers and then takes a steady rolling descent. This descent is beautifully framed by the Wind River Mountains to the west and Red Canyon to the east. The first of two aid stations will be at mile 1.5 (this is the 5k turnaround); this aid station will also be stocked for the return. The second aid station will be at the 10km turnaround. From the 10km turnaround, you will climb continuously approximately 1000′ back up to the radio towers and then descend into the finish.

21km COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 21k course follows the 10k route to its turnaround, then does a technical and “elevation intensive” 11k loop (includes one aid station at the furthest point on the course). From here, runners rejoin the 10k course for the 1000′ climb back up to the finish. This is an exceedingly hard and rewarding race. It is not for the weak of heart or legs.

Aid stations will be stocked with water and sports drink.
