The Rodeo Run is one of the longest running (pun intended) events in western South Dakota. The race was first held in 1978 during the annual Black Hills Roundup when, at the last minute, the carnival failed to show and another event was needed to fill the void. It has been held every year since and has become an annual tradition for those coming to Belle Fourche for one of the biggest and best 4th of July celebrations in the country. Proceeds from the event go toward supporting youth sports in Belle Fourche.
Race day registration will begin at 6:00 AM at Herrmann Park in Belle Fourche. The 5k and 10k both start at 7:00 AM and follow loop courses through Belle Fourche, finishing back at Herrmann Park.
