2016 Event Options:

Olympic Triathlon
1500 M swim, 40 K bike, 10K run (2 loops of bike and run map)

Sprint Triathlon
750 M swim, 20 K bike, 5K run

Olympic Aquabike
1500 M swim, 40 K bike

Duathlon
2 mile run, 20 K bike, 5K run

Kids Triathlon
50 meter swim, 1.5 mile bike, 1/2 mile run

Eclipse Multi-Sport, in partnership with Darien Lakes State Park, Cattaraugus County Police, and the town of Darien Center, offers you a competitive triathlon that accommodates veteran triathletes as well as anyone new to the sport of triathlon.

The open water swim will be monitored by Darien Lakes Lifeguards and assisted by an underwater recovery team in full dive suits to make sure anyone in distress is adequately cared for. In addition, Kayaks will be on hand for extra support of the participants in all our races.

The Olympic bike course is a loop course which takes athletes by transition twice. Get ready for some fan cheering and encouragement halfway through! For the Sprint distance bike, one loop is all you will need.



The 5K run through the beautiful Darien Lakes State Park. Finely tree lined and peaceful. Your finishing kick is close to being completely shaded. If you are doing the Olympic distance, you will run the run course 2 times, looping back through the park and getting some friendly encouragement halfway along.

Enjoy an after race hot meal, compliments of Cappelli's Pizzeria.

An underwater recovery team is on hand in full dive suits to make sure anyone in distress is adequately cared for. In addition, Darien Lakes State Park Life Guard staff is in on hand for extra support of the participants of The SteelMan Triathlon.

Race Day Schedule - Saturday, June 11 2016
• Transition opens 6 AM - 7:45 AM
• Packet pickup and race day registration* 6:30 AM - 7:45 AM
• Body marking and timing chip pick-up at race venue
• 7:45 AM Transition closes
• 7:50 AM Mandatory athlete meeting on the beach
• 8 AM Race starts
• Wave 1 followed by waves 2-5 in 3 minute intervals

• 11:45 AM Transition need to be cleared of adults belongings
• 12 PM SteelKids Triathlon
