Triathlon : Bike 14 Miles, Kayak 2 Miles, Run 4 Miles |
The race features a 14 mile bike leg, 2 mile canoe/kayak leg and finishes with a 4 mile run. The race takes place at beautiful D.W. Field Park just a mile off route 24 at Exit 18b. It’s the perfect closer for your tri season and you can leave the wetsuit at home for this one.
Race Starts Promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Awards ceremony to follow the race.
This is a closed loop course in a beautiful and historic 750 acre park. ( No cars to worry about ) Bike race features a wave start and is 4 laps around including 4 trips up famous Tower Hill. Perfect blend of grades, flats and straightaways. Race through forest of pine, oak and birch around Waldo Lake and Avon Reservoir. Bike leg ends in the single transition area where you'll launch your kayak or canoe and do 2 laps of island-dotted Waldo Lake. (It's the only day of the year when boats are allowed on Waldo Lake ! ) Run starts at end of the boat leg and is 1+ lap around and finishes at the staging area - the same place the bike leg started.
• Take exit 18A of Rt 24 .
• Right onto Pearl St at the end of the exit .
• Take right onto Oak St at the traffic light.
