Group Rates

If you are of the organizational type and have a lot of friends, get a group of 10 or more #10 is free. PLUS if you get additional friends to run with you, the price the group of 10 paid is the same price of the new team mate. To receive the discounted price you have to complete the registration on line and mail the $$ in. Once received we will activate the entry.

It will take a little work as you will have to mail all of the entries together to: the Big Dawg Dare, 1112 North Franklin, Litchfield, Illinois 62056. We will enter them all administratively so that will save you the credit card processing fee as well.

We will need the following for EACH contestant:

Name: First, Middle Initial, Last

Address

Age and D.O.B.

Shirt size (gender specific: mens S – 3XL or womens S-3XL)

Email address

Phone number in case of a question

We also need a WAVE TIME for the group.

You will fill out the waiver at the registration tent.

Race Day

Parking

Parking is free of charge. You can park in any of the designated parking areas or on the roadways leading to the course. If you do park on the edge of the roadway, please make sure to allow traffic to move in both directions.

When to arrive

Please be at the course one hour before your slotted time to insure you are ready to go at the start of your wave.

Registration

The registration tent is located on the South side of the course by the finish line. You can pick up your race packet and Big Dawg t-shirt, and tote bag. Please bring a picture I.D. to pick up your packet. You will also receive your timing chip or band. This chip should be attached to your shoe securely or if using a band, securely around your ankle.

Valuables

The gear check tent is located on the North side of the course next to the registration tent. You may check your belongings there free of charge, just fill your tote bag and hand it back to us.

Start of the Race

Please be at the starting line 5 minutes before the start of your wave. All waves will start on time.

The Course

The Big Dawg Dare is a 3.1 mile or 5k race designed to test even the biggest of dawgs (map below). It will be an "improved" course due to all the positive suggestions from those who participated the last four years. You will be running, climbing, walking, crawling, maybe cussing and wondering why you ever decided to do this and panting like a big dawg! We are excited to bring you a great and challenging event. You will have fun.............seriously, you will.

If you take the dare, you will be one tired dawg by the end of the event. You can walk, jog, run or crawl to finish the course. You will be professionally timed by mmmultisports. You can compete against others or against yourself. The challenge is to get to the finish to get your 2016 Big Dawg Medal.

For those who do not want to attempt the entire Big Dawg, we have included a 2k Puppy Dawg Dare at NOON ONLY. All who finish will receive a BDD cup, a BDD tech shirt, BDD tote, and BDD medal.

After the Race

At the finish line you will be greeted with your Big Dawg Medal proving you are an official BIG DAWG. Make your way over to the refreshment stand and turn your drink ticket in for your Big Dawg Mug and one free drink of your choice.

We will have 2 areas this year with water to clean up.

Food

The Big Dawg Dare is home of the Dawghouse where you can get the Big Dawg hotdog. beer, soda, or water.

Memorabilia

We will have a limited amount of additional shirts and mugs for sale at a reasonable price on the day of the race.
