Calling all aspiring triathletes, ages 8 to 12! You can swim, bike and run your way to the finish at the fourth annual Youth Triathlon on Saturday August 13, at the Manassas Park Community Center. Athletes will be divided into two age groups: Juniors, ages 8-9, and Seniors, ages 10-12 (age as of race day). Juniors will swim 50 meters in the pool, bike 1.5 miles and run 0.5 miles. Senior entrants will swim 100 meters, bike three miles and run one mile. Each child will receive an official triathlon medal and t-shirt. All racers are required to wear appropriate swim wear in the pool and shoes while biking and running. Each child should bring a bicycle and a helmet to the event. Parents, bring your cameras for award-winning photo opportunities!
