Triathlon : Swim 15 Minutes, Bike 25 Minutes, Run 20 Minutes |
This is a fun way to get your feet wet! Tri something new to get the feel of a Tri in a safe and supportive environment . Or, use this Tri to work and improve your skills. Either way, it's a great fun way to workout for the day. Volunteers will be keep track of your laps, bike trip # and treadmill distance and use the point system to give you the grand total. Rankings will be determined by the total points covered in all three events. Prize for first place. Rankings willbe posted the following day.
If you never been to our YMCA, you will have the opportunity to see the set up and try any equipment that you need to learn to feel comfortable or want to try bike seat adjustments.
Triathlon Format:
In order: Swim 15 minutes, Bike 25 minutes, Run 20 minutes
Transition Time: 10 minutes from pool to bike / 5minutes from bike to treadmill
Swim Distance = 2 points per length Every time you touch the wall = length any swim stroke
Bike Distance = 3 points per Keiser's Bike monitor Trip # Biking gear starts at tension 8 May wear SPD shoes or regular sneakers
Running Distance = 15 points per Treadmill mile HIt Quick Start. Any speed and any incline. No holding onto the fram while running.
Attire: Come ready wearing bathing suit & towel, optional googles & swim cap. Wear shorts that you are comfortable biking and running in. Optional SPD shoes and sneakers. Bring water bottle. Light snacks will be provided.
Registration Form on line, (www.westfieldymca.org), and need to be completed by April 3rd
