This year over 45,750 people in the U.S. alone will be newly diagnosed with oral cancer, which includes mouth, tongue, and throat cancer. The Oral Cancer Walk for Awareness Committee & volunteers will strive to save lives and reduce these alarming statistics by providing FREE ORAL CANCER SCREENINGS and education at the Oral Cancer Foundation Walk for Awareness event in San Diego.
This event raises awareness and early detection of the fastest growing cancer today: head and neck cancer. We provide participants with information about risk factors, signs & symptoms, and treatments of this devastating disease. Our goal is to send the critically important message of early detection and prevention not only to the general public, but also to health care providers who are the front-line specialists in screening for and detecting this disease at its earliest and potentially most curable stages.
