Whether you're new to triathlon or just into speed, the Chicago SuperSprint Triathlon is made to order. This race takes place at Foster Beach on Saturday of race weekend, in conjunction with the Transameria Chicago Triathlon.
Swim Course (375 meters)
The athletes begin their swim just north of the ADA dock at the south end of Foster Beach, swim east until the buoy, take a right headed south until the next buoy, then a final right around the buoy to head west back to shore. They will exit the water at the ADA dock and run toward the Foster Beach House staying straight hugging the east side of the building until they have reached the shower. They then take a right to run along the south side of the building until they get to the next left through the flower garden and into transition (located in the Foster Beach Parking Lot). The swim start and swim exit will be clearly marked on the beach with hard barricades and large inflatables.
T1
The transition area is located in the Foster Beach Parking Lot and will be secured with 6 foot fence to protect the athlete traffic as well as the athlete’s belongings before and during the race.
Bike Course (10.5K)
The bike course takes place on closed roadways. Athletes begin at Foster Beach Parking lot, exiting transition at the southwest entrance to W. Foster Avenue and head south to Montrose Harbor Dr. riding with the flow of traffic on Simonds Dr. Participants will turn around just before the intersection of Simonds Dr. and Montrose Harbor Dr. to complete three (3) loops for a 10.5K total bike distance.
T2
There is only one transition area for this race. See T1 description.
Run Course (2.5K)
The run course is located solely on the public gravel path between Foster Beach and Montrose Beach. Runners will exit transition at the walkway connecting the parking lot and the gravel path in the northeast corner of Foster Beach Parking Lot. They will take an immediate right onto the gravel path and head south following the eastern most path to the 2.5K turnaround just south of the Wilson Ave. intersection. Turn arounds will be marked with signage and course marshals.
Our course is wheelchair friendly, and we gladly welcome para-athletes to participate.
