NEW race distances!

The J Indoor Triathlon is now featuring a Super Sprint Distance and Sprint Distance (limited spots available). If you are a beginner or novice this is a great Triathlon to get you ready for the season. The 25 yard indoor pool allows each athlete to compete in their own lane. The quick ride on our Keiser Spin bikes will keep you moving as you transition to the track for a speedy finish!

Event details and schedule

We are located at 5801 W 115th Street, Overland Park, KS 66211. Please enter from the 117th & Nall entrance.  Parking is available on the west side of the Jewish Community Center, next to the tennis courts and outdoor pool. 

Event begins at 7 am, with heats approximately every 20 minutes.  Heat assignments will be emailed to all athletes by Friday, February 26th, 2016. 

When you arrive:

  1. CHECK IN. Pick-up athlete t-shirt and sign waiver.

  2. CHECK IN AT TIMERS TABLE. A timer (person) will be provided, or you can bring your own timer (friend/family member).

  3. LOCKER ROOMS. The locker rooms are available to store items or change clothes. Please bring your own lock and two towels will be provided. 

  4. POOL. Locate your lane prior to your heat start time. During the 7th or 14th lap of your swim, your timer will place a blue kickboard in the water. You can place your transition items in the pool area or the bike area.

  5. BIKES. Locate your bike prior to your heat start time. You will be able to adjust the bike to your settings. You can place your transition items in the pool area or bike area.

  6. TRACK. Locate the track prior to your heat start time, specifically the start point and finish line.  The first two lanes on the inside of the track will be used for the race.

  7. RELAY. Swimmer must exit pool and hand-off race to biker on the bike. Biker must exit bike and hand-off race to runner on the track.

  8. FINISH. After crossing the finish line, enjoy a cool down walk. Post-race refreshments are located near the check in area.

  9. TIMING. Timers will count swim laps in the pool. The bike tracks total distance. Timers will count run laps on the track.  Your total time includes three events and transition times; beginning when you enter the water and does not stop until you cross the finish line on the track.  Timers will do their best to record lap splits (swim and run) as well as transition times between events.

  10. RESULTS. Results will be updated throughout the event once heats are completed. If you need to leave after you complete your race and have placed we will contact you the Monday following the race.  All results will be posted on our website at www.thejkc.org.

  11. AWARDS. Awards will be provided to: 1st Male, 2nd Male, 3rd Male, 1st Female, 2nd Female, 3rd Female, 1st Relay Team. (Awards will not be based on age groups.) Participation medals will be awarded to all athletes.
