An "Ekiden" is a popular Japanese team relay race that you can now run in Hawaii. Teams of 2 to 6 runners race over a USATF certified 26.2 mile (marathon) course, from Kapiolani Park to Sandy Beach and back. Three relay stations along the course providing refreshments and entertainment. Free lunch and live music at the Kapiolani Park finish line. Followed by another free live music event at the Waikiki Shell that same afternoon. Good value. Good fun. Participants will also receive a race t-shirt, goodie bag, and finisher's medal.
