Welcome to the 2nd Annual Hug-A-Cub 2016 Valentine’s Day 5K! We are excited and thrilled to have you kicking off your Valentine's Day weekend running with us. Supporting this race is a wonderful way to show your love for a cause near and dear to every adult heart: the education of our children. All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the 760 students attending Endeavor Elementary School by helping us build a new playground. Earlier this school year, two of the largest pieces of playground equipment were removed because they had become unsafe. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS RACE WILL GO TOWARDS A NEW PLAYGROUND! 

The Hug-A-Cub 2016 Valentine’s Day 5K and Fun Run will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016. The 5K run is scheduled to begin at 8:00am, with the Fun Run to follow at 9:15am. We welcome runners and walkers of all levels and speeds and especially encourage children and their families to participate in the event! The 3.1-mile course will take you through the beautiful Magnolia Springs subdivision. WE ARE CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE COURSE CERTIFIED!! The Fun Run will take place on Endeavor Elementary School property. 

The Hug-A-Cub 2016 Valentine’s Day 5K offers a unique racing opportunity for its participants. You may choose to register as an individual and be eligible for overall and age group awards or you can race as a couple and be eligible for a separate overall couples category.That’s right, we are offering Couples racing! It’s Valentine’s Day, who wouldn’t want the opportunity to race with his or her sweetie, child or best friend? NEW FOR 2016 IN THE COUPLES CATEGORY: Couples will also be eligible for overall and age group categories in addition to the overall couples category.  

Did we mention that there will be chocolate? Come and join us in support of the students of Endeavor Elementary School!

Race Start and End Location: Endeavor Elementary School, 1997 Old Railroad Bed Road, Harvest, AL 35749

Registration Information:

Individual:

• Early Registration - $25 (11/13/15 – 1/31/16)
• Late Registration and Day of - $30 (2/1/16 – 2/13/16)

Couples: 

• Early Registration - $40 (11/13/15 – 1/31/16)
• Late Registration -  $45 (2/1/16 – 2/10/16) **No race day registration for the couples category

Here is how the Couples category works:

1)   When you register, you may choose to register as an individual or couple – not both.

2)   Race day registration will not be available for the Couples category. Registration will close for this category on February 10, 2016.

3)   On race day, you do not have to run with your partner  – unless you want to! Your combined times will determine if you are the winners so staying together is not a requirement.

4)   There are two Couples categories that you may choose to enter: Adult/Adult and Adult/Child (In each category an adult is defined as an individual 18 years of age or older on race day and the child is under 18 years of age on race day)

5)   Awards will be given out to the top three (3) overall fastest couples in the Adult/Adult and the Adult/Child categories.

T-Shirts:

T-shirts are guaranteed to participants who register during the early registration period (11/13/15-1/31/16). T-shirts will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis after early registration closes.

Awards:

Male Overall: The top 3 male finishers will receive a custom award.

Female Overall: The top 3 female finishers will receive a custom award.

**Note: If you place in the overall male/female categories you are not eligible for an age group award. 

Couples Category: Top 3 overall fastest couples in the Adult/Adult and Adult/Child categories will receive an award. **New for 2016: Couples competing this year are eligible for all three categories (Overall Male/Female, Overall Couples Categories and Age Group).

Age Division Awards: The top 3 finishers in each of the following age groups will earn an award. Age Division Awards are as follow:
