Running : Fun Run |
A Halloween-themed 5k and Fun Run involving a costume contest and candy treats along the course. This is a unique themed-run which celebrates health, an active lifestyle and the changing of the seasons while getting to still eat some chocolate! Each participant will be given a Halloween Monster Dash candy bag and there will be several candy stations along the course to gather candy. Now how fun is that…
This event is less about your minute per mile time, but more about having the time of your life. The fun run is un-timed (although we know some will be racing for a time and that is fine) and less about who finishes first! It’s about dressing up in the craziest, scariest and most creative costumes on the planet and coming out to do some exercising and collecting some candy along the way! What better way for a family to go trick or treat and have a healthy experience. Or for all those who are going to make a day of it what better way than to dress up with your roommates or training partners, have some fun for a couple of hours and then you’re right in the heart of the entertainment district and the night is still young!
Intersection of Church and Center Streets is the start/finish line. The expo is located in the one section of the parking lots between Church and Mountain Streets. We encourage car pooling, walking or biking where possible. Parking can be a challenge in the downtown area, but there are several public lots to choose from. You can also park in the Town Center garage parking lot and United Methodist Church parking deck just to name a few.
The whole reason for dressing up is to see who is the most creative…right! There will be judges (if you can call them that) who will be looking for the most creative, scariest and wildest costumes. The top costumes in five categories: individual, 2-person, 3-person, 4+ person and Owner/Pet will be judged at the costume contest at the end. Our crack pot team of judges will be looking for the best costumes. We will award gift certificates to area restaurants and other businesses for the following types of costumes:
