The Veterans' Day 5k Buddy Run and Walk starts at 6:30pm on Wednesday, 11 November 2015.
All entrants will receive a T-shirt, dog tag, a water bottle fanny pack and two (red & green) "glow stick" bracelets. The bracelets are to be worn like the running lights for boats and ships, red (port or left wrist ) and green (starboard or right wrist).
The RUN consist of two person teams running together over the following course:
- 1st Leg - The 2 person team runs North from Johnson St. for 1.25k to the turn around point just past Lee Street
- 2nd Leg - South for 1.25k thru the 100m "Carry Zone" @ Johnson Street
- 3rd Leg - South for 1,25k to the turnaround just before Madison Street
- 4th Leg - North for 1.25k finishing @Johnson St, thru the final 100m "Carry Zone"
- "Carry Zone" - one teammate carries the other the full 100m
- THERE ARE NO WATER STATIONS.
- Entrants are issued a "Water Bottle Fanny Pack" and carry their own water or electrolyte replacements.
The WALK is an individual event. Walkers will line up behind the runners and walk the same course as the runners but without carrying anyone thru the "Carry Zone".
