THE TOUR DE ELVIS 5K RUN
Friday, August 14th, 7:30PM
Runners will enjoy an evening run through the streets of historic and beautiful Albemarle. Registration tent will open at 6 pm, with the race beginning at 7:30 pm at Don Montgomery Park, 500 US 52 North in Albemarle. Age group and overall awards will be given to top finishers, with all race proceeds going to the Roger F. Snyder Greenway Fund. All runners will receive a tee shirt and other goodies!!
THE TOUR DE ELVIS CYCLE TOUR
Saturday, August 15th, 8AM
See Stanly County on a summer Saturday morning with several hundred of your closest friends!! With three distance options there’s a route for serious riders as well as those who have to shake the dust off the bike before getting on. All routes are ride-at-your-own-pace, and will explore the backroads and small towns that make Stanly County a great place to live, work, and visit. Rest stops will be set up every 15 to 20 miles, and SAG support will be provided along the route. For safety, all riders must wear an ANSI approved helmet, and are to obey all traffic laws and rules of the road. The check-in tent will open at 7 am, and all riders will depart from City Lake Park, 815 Concord Road in Albemarle at 8:00 am. All riders will also receive a tee shirt as well as other goodies!!.
The Tour De Elvis 5k and Cycle Tour are only two activities of “Elvis Weekend” in Albemarle. Other activities include:
-Elvis Memorabilia and Souvenirs
-Elvis Impersonators Contest
-Elvis Tribute Concert at City Lake Park Amphitheatre featuring:
“The E-ssentials”
-Concert is at 7 pm, August 16
