The West Shore YMCA has been selected to be one of the 46 hosts for the USA Triathlon Splash & Dash Youth Aquathlon Series planned in cities across the United States with the aim of introducing youth to the multisport lifestyle. This series is open to athletes ages 7-15. The focus is on PARTICIPATION rather than competition. The West Shore YMCA event is open to disabled athletes and youth of all fitness levels are encouraged to participate in this fun event.
Registration deadline is May 29. There is no day-of registration and no refunds. Participants receive a finisher medal, event t-shirt, cinch bag with coupons, and post-race food.
Course Information:
SWIM:
In a 25 yard indoor pool, with lifeguards on pool deck and a volunteer at each lane to count laps.
Ages 7-10 years old = 100 yards
Ages 11-15 years old = 200 yards
RUN:
Outside on closed course with volunteers on course to direct athletes and maintain safety.
Ages 7-10 years old = 1k (1 loop)
Ages 11-15 years old = 2k (2 loops)
