Duathlon : Run 1.5 Miles, Bike 12 Miles, Run 3.1 Miles |
The 2015 Sand Dollar Duathlon takes place at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. This run-bike-run course is entirely on base and is great event for beginners and experienced athletes. All parts of the duathlon start and end at the transition area. The first 1.5 mile run is an out and back to the beautiful emerald coast beaches that vibrantly display the natural Gulf of Mexico shoreline. The 12 mile bike course experiences a low traffic volume on Saturday mornings and provides athletes with the rare opportunity to tour the stunning views of Tyndall Air Force Base. The 3.1 mile route will take athletes through Heritage Park where the history and culture of the Air Force and Tyndall Air Force Base will provide an astonishing backdrop to this final leg of the race.
Not a DoD ID card holder? No problem, simply provide the required information in the registration page. Come on out and enjoy the race!
This awesome event takes place 29 August 2015. Transition area opens and packet pick-up on the day of the race begins at 545am and the race will start promptly by 715am. Registration closes midnight 24 August 2015.
Please register early to guarantee you get a T-Shirt!
Awards: Overall male and female will be recognized. Age group awards will be given to the top three winners in the following age ranges:
15 & under
15-19
20-24
25-29
30-34
35-39
40-44
45-49
50-54
55-59
60-64
65-70
70+
This is not a USAT sanctioned event, but USAT rules will still be adhered to.
