The Rip Roar Kids Triathlon Series was formed to fill the emerging gap created in the wake of Hy-Vee IronKids discontinueation. Rip Roar was formed by the former Director of the Hy-Vee IronKids Series and will continue with the lively, exciting youth race that have put on throughout midwest markets during the past two years. With a focus on youth specific races Rip Roar holds the highest level of youth specific safety concerns, and course precautions while also creating an atmosphere to encourage youth involvement at all ages and skill levels. The races, while having a competitive element are in place to encourage youth to participate in the sport and have their best day ever.
Chalco Hills Recreation will host it’s first youth triathlon this summer and we couldn’t be happier to be getting in on the action first. A beautiful venue that offers much in the way of nature and seclusion within the city. Athletes will swim in the lake from a staff-made beach area.
The bike will be on wholly closed roads within the park featuring one challenging hill. Each lap will come back to near the transition area for prime viewing for spectators.
The run is held entirely on one of the many miles of cement trails within the park. The senior course will offer a moderate hill on the run but the intermediates and juniors are off the hook. All aspects of the race are close together for great viewing for spectators.
