The youth triathlon race distances are as follows:
-Red Course (ages 6-12): 50-yard swim, 2.2-kilometer bike and 0.75-kilometer run
-Blue Course (ages 6-12): 40-yard swim, 1-kilometer bike and 0.35-kilometer run
-Green Course (ages 13-15) - 100 yard swim, 5 kilometer bike, and 1.5 kilometer run
Swimming occurs at Bogert Pool. The red and blue bike courses are on asphalt, concrete and the Linear Trail system. The green bike course goes out on Church Street to Kagy to South Tracy and back on the Linear Trail system. All runs occur on the sidewalks and grass in the area immediate to Bogert Park.
All participants will receive a race-day goodie bag along with a finisher's medal. Don't forget to sign up for one of the Youth Triathlon Camps.
Matthew Parks, a USAT certified triathlon coach with Moving Forward will review the racecourse, transition set up and gear and lead the pre-race meeting. Safety precautions will also be covered, including stopping while on the bike along with riding with others in a group setting. The racecourses are well marked and well supervised.
