Make-A-Wish fulfills the wishes of children 2 1/2 - 18 years of age with diagnosed, life-threatening medical conditions.Your participation in this event will make it possible for more kids to receive a dream come true, whether it be visiting Florida, getting a computer, or even meeting a favorite celebrity. 

A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions.  For many, the wish marks a turning point in the fight against their illnesses.  Health care professionals say, the wish experience works in concert with medicine to make their patients feel better emotionally and even physically.  That is why wishes matter.

This is the second year for this race which will raise money for Make-A-Wish.  Last year we were able to raise more than $7,500!!  There are many kids in the Ohio Valley who have been, are, or will become wish kids.

There will be food and awards after the race and drawings for door prizes.

Awards will be the same categories for both runners and walkers: The top 3 overall for men and women and the top 3 in each of the following age groups: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

Event details and schedule

Race is an out and back, flat and fast course starting on Water Street at Wheelings Heritage Port, heading towards Warwood and back on the bike trail.  Water stops at miles 1 and 2.  5K and walk will both start at 9 am.  The Kids Wish Run will begin at 8:30am and each child will receive a finishers medal.
