Swim Map:
The swim start is at Stillwell Ave. Ocean Certified Lifeguards will manage the swim.
Lifeguards will be in kayaks and rescue boards along the swim course.
The swim course will be marked with bright orange large buoys. Expected water
temperature is between 65-70 degrees F. Expect challenging currents and swells.
There may also be jellyfish. This is a sanctioned USA Triathlon Aquathlon and USA
Triathlon sanctioned swims. Purchase of one day insurance is required
if you are not a USAT member. The cost for the one day insurance is $12.00.
That amount can be applied to purchase the USAT annual membership.
POSSIBLE SWIM COURSE CHANGE ON RACE DAY:
For those doing the 2 mile swim: Instead of swimming 1 mile and turning around
you will do two loops of the 1 mile course. That means you will U-turn at the .5 Mile twice.
Transition Area Location
The transition area will be located on the boardwalk and Stillwell Ave.
The transition area will open at 6:15 am. For those doing the SWIM ONLY you must
be body marked and must show your numbered swim cap before entering and leaving
the transition area. Finish line for the swimmers will be on the beach where You will receive
a finishers medal! After completing the swim you will be allowed in the transition area to
pick up your personal items, however we ask you to be aware of athletes transitioning to the run.
For those doing the Aquathlon (SWIM/RUN) you must have your bib number in addition
to be body marked and have a numbered swim cap before entering the transition area.
After completing the swim athletes doing the aquathlon will transition to the run.
You will leave the transition area and run East towards Brighton Beach.
The finish line will be located on the boardwalk. You will receive a finishers medal.
Run Map: 3 mile loop (6 mile loop do it twice)
The Run will take place on the boardwalk. After completing the swim you will go to the transition
area located on the Boardwalk just west of Stillwell Ave. You will leave the transition area and run
East towards Brighton Beach.

8:00 am Long Dist. Aquathlon Waves Begin (at least 3 minute intervals) Waves might change at discretion of the race director!
8:00 am 1st Wave Long Distance Aquathlon and 2 Mile swimmers (orange Swim Cap)
8:03 2nd Wave Olympic Dist. Aquathlon and 1 mile swimmers (yellow Swim Cap)
8:06 am Wave Short Dist. Aquathlon Waves and 1/2 mile swimmers (green Swim Cap)
