This event is a fundraising event for the Parke Vermillion Community Pregnancy Center. A non profit organization which helps anyone in pregnancy situations.
The event will include fun activities such as face painting, bounce houses, popcorn and water at no cost.
There will be music, fun and door prizes at noon.
Free t-shirts are guaranteed if registered before April 1, 2015
Course Information:
The Walk is a one mile trip around the Rockville Town Square starting at 11am.
The 5k is a run or walk event around the town of Rockville starting at 10:30am
The cycling event is some of the most scenic countryside in Indiana as spring spreads its brilliant green over the hills and hollows of Parke County. This 20.3 mile route will start on the historic Rockville Courthouse Square and head north on Market Street past the Library and First United Methodist Church, built in 1868, then head out of town on Howard Avenue and Strawberry Road to Bloomingdale Road, where it will turn north. After meandering through rolling farmland and the small town of Bloomingdale with its 19th century churches, riders will head west on CR 500 N for a few miles, then go north a little ways on Ten O'Clock Road to enjoy a rest stop, complete with refreshments, at the West Union Bridge -- the longest covered bridge in Parke County at 315 feet -- which spans beautiful Sugar Creek. Riders will then return to Rockville via Ten O'Clock Road, enjoying lush pasture land and wooded areas along the way. This route, with only a couple of moderately challenging hills and very little traffic, is suitable for the average recreational rider. The use of a helmet is recommended.
Directions:
From Indianapolis head east on US 36 until you reach Rockville Town Square.
From Terre Haute head north on US 63, go west on US 36 until you reach Rockville Town Square.
