2015 Loudoun Half Marathon & 8k:
Although running is becoming a fast growing sport in this area, many of the high schools in Loudoun do not have the necessary funding for their track & field and cross country programs to allow their athletes to fully explore the sport.
The Loudoun Half & 8k raises money to supplement the schools' budgets so that they may enhance these programs.
The race is organized by the Ashburn Area Running Club (AARC) a local group of running enthusiasts.
Course Information:
Half Marathon Course: (13.1 miles)
The half marathon starts at Stone Bridge HS in beautiful Ashburn VA, then heads down Claiborne through Broadlands, and around the lakes of Ashburn Village, with the final stretch down the Washington & Old Dominion Trail prior to returning to the school.
8k Course: (5 miles)
The 8k course starts at Stone Bridge HS in beautiful Ashburn VA, then heads down Claiborne through Broadlands and back to the school.
