2015 Navigators Stamford KIC IT Kids Triathlon:
Calling all kids!
The 5th annual Navigators Stamford KIC IT Kids Triathlon to benefit Kids in Crisis will be held on Saturday, June 27 at Cove Beach in Stamford.
Open to children ages 6 to 13, the Navigators Stamford KIC IT Kids Triathlon is a fantastic opportunity for youngsters to participate in an enjoyable athletic event that promotes a healthy lifestyle, provides a chance to meet new friends and builds self-confidence.
Children ages 6 7 will complete a course consisting of a 50 meter swim, 0.8 mile bike, and a half mile run;
Children ages 8-10 will complete a 50 meter swim, 2.5 mile bike, and a half mile run.
Youths ages 11 13 cover a 150 meter swim, 4 mile bike, and 1 mile run.
This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to participate in an enjoyable athletic event that promotes a healthy lifestyle, provides a chance to meet new friends and builds self-confidence. The event is perfect for experienced racers and first time triathletes alike. The courses and distances will be achievable for all athletes, and prizes will be given to top age group winners. Each child will receive a custom medal when they cross the finish line.
Course Information:
Ages 6 7
50 meter swim, 0.8 mile bike, and a half mile run
Ages 8-10
50 meter swim, 2.5 mile bike, and a half mile run
Ages 11 13
150 meter swim, 4 mile bike, and 1 mile run
Directions:
I 95 Exit 8, onto Elm Street.
At the intersection with Shippan Avenue, turn left onto Cove Road and follow to Weed Avenue to end.
Other Info:
Following the race’s end in Mill River Park, athletes, spectators and volunteers will enjoy a fun Family Festival featuring music and entertainment activities for all ages, as well as food, games and awards. The excitement of the race and the day’s activities make it a great experience for parents and kids.
All proceeds go to Kids in Crisis, an emergency crisis counseling and residential shelter for infants, children, and teens.
