Dutch Miller Automotives presents the 3rd Annual Be A Hero! 5K Run & Walk as it returns to the beautiful downtown area of Huntington, West Virginia on Saturday July 11, 2015. The 3rd Annual Be A Hero! 5K Run & Walk is a superhero themed race to honor the greatest heroes this country has to offer; combat wounded military personnel. These men and women have sacrificed so much for this country and it is time that we recognize them and say thank you.
Participants are highly encouraged, but not required, to rediscover their inner kid and to show up to the event dressed as their favorite superhero; whether it be a comic book hero, a real life hero, a historical figure or a person who you consider to be a hero. If you're feeling really creative you can even make up your own hero! The only restriction is to keep it kid friendly!
As a result of the success of the previous two years, the Be A Hero! 5K Run & Walk event has raised a total of $9,141.79 for Wounded Wear in addition to making a $200 contribution to to the Foundation 4 Heroes and a $200 contribution to the Huntington Road Runners.
It is our goal this year to raise $10,000 for Wounded Wear with this single event (more than doubling what we have already donated) as well as continue to contribute to other non-profits.
