August 15 marks the 2nd anniversary of the first race for Heartland Endurance Sport, and one of the most valuable lessons we have learned is that you, our runners, are the reason we are here today! We want to share the day with you and thank you for all your support by giving back to you, our great athletes, with a free, chip-timed 5K run/walk in Cicero’s Beautiful Community Park.

Who says you can’t get anything for free anymore? Not us! While this is a no-frills run, we will have water on the course and water, Gatorade, bananas and cookies post race. There will be music in the air, accurate chip timing, all in a safe, fun, family-friendly, community environment.

Walking the course is also OK. Come on out to the park, meet up with your neighbors, and enjoy a morning walk at the park!

Want a little frill? Fancy a souvenir? We are offering you the opportunity to upgrade your experience to add a nice short-sleeve tech shirt for $10, and/or a finishers medal for $3. You’ll not find another race that is quite the value!

Packet Pickup: An email with packet pickup directions/location will be sent when plans for this are finalized.

Race Day: We will be onsite by 6:30am for packet and chip pickup, as well as race day registration. To ensure we can start the race on time, please plan to be onsite at least an hour prior to race to pick up your timing chip. Please note, we may not be able to allow registrations within 45 minutes of the race starting, or check in within 30 minutes of the race start. Check-in will be at the blue tent near the finish line.

Parking: The park has ample parking. Should the parking lot become full, you will be directed where to park.
