2015 Cedar Lake Triathlon Series:


 - The Cedar Lake Tri Series will be hosting a fun-filled homespun tri training series for newbies to elites.


The mission of the Cedar Lake Tri Series is to develop a community of multi-sport athletes from recreational to elite status who share the common purpose to:
Promote a healthy lifestyle
Achieve their personal athletic goals
Develop a stronger community.

The Cedar Lake Tri Series will be a training series of 7 Sprint Triathlons, every other Thursday evening starting on May 28th and running through August 20th.
This series will be great for newbies to complete their first triathlon to Ironman finishers using this race as another training day.

Course Information:


Swim:

  • The swim will be great for athletes who enjoy a short, out and back open water lake swim.
  • You will keep the buoy to your left.
  • Yes, we said short swim. Roughly 550 yards.

    T1 & T2:
  • Transitions will be within the fenced in perimeters of the lake.
  • Athletes will be able to fit 10 bikes per bike rack.
  • Have respect for other athletes when it comes to laying out your transition mats.

    Bike Course:
  • Take a right out of transition and head toward Cedar Lake Rd
  • 0.16mi Turn right onto Cedar Lake Rd
  • 1.68mi Turn right onto N Cedar Lake Rd
  • 2.34mi Head north on N Cedar Lake Rd
  • 3.12mi Head north on N Cedar Lake Rd toward Turkey Hill Rd
  • TURN AROUND AT CONES BEFORE TURKEY HILL RD
  • 4.54mi Head south on Cedar Lake Rd
  • 7.4mi at fork turn left onto Cedar Lake Rd/David Rd
  • 8.93mi Turn left onto CT-148 W/W Main St toward transition
  • KEEP THE CONES ON YOUR LEFT, PASSING THE LAST CONE THEN IMMEDIATELY TURN IN TO TRANSITION, DISMOUNT PRIOR TO CHIP TIMING MATS

    Run Course:
  • The 3.1 mile run along side the lake will approach Cockaponset State Forest before you have to turnaround at the water station.
  • The run is fast, flat and smooth.
  • Runners will stay on the side of the road closest to the lake for the out AND back. Allowing bikers to stay on the opposite side of the runners.

    **Bikers and Runners: SLOW DOWN as you approach Route 148 on your way back into transition.
