Triathlon : Swim 800 Meters, Bike 12.4 Miles, Run 3.1 Miles |
June 13, 2015 is your day to swim, bike and run in one of the longest running, most picturesque triathlons in the United States. Compete in the YMCA of Greater Syracuse's Green Lakes Triathlon and you will:
Packets may be picked up 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday June 6 at Fleet Feet in De Witt or starting at 6:45 a.m. on race day at the Green Lakes Administration Building (by the beach).
Please review the information in your packet, including your age and swim wave. If there is a discrepancy, please notify an official immediately.
Chip pick-up and body marking will be at the Green Lakes Administration Building near the beach starting at 6:45. You must show your bib to pick up your chip and to be body marked. There are no exceptions.
When teams pick up their chip – all three members must be present. No exceptions.
The transition area will be open to rack your bike starting at 6:30 a.m. You must rack your bike on its assigned number. Bikes should be removed by 11 a.m. To enter the transition area, you must wear the bracelet found in your packet.
The information meeting is in front of the Bathhouse at 8 a.m. The first wave departs at 8:30.
While we take all safety precautions, you are ultimately responsible for your own safety in all three events. Most of the roads are open to traffic.
SWIM: You must wear your assigned cap:
You may at any time grab a kayak, paddleboard, or life boat to rest during the swim without penalty. When you exit the water, please make sure your cap color is visible so that you may be “counted out.” If you decide to drop out of the race, you must cross the timing mat before turning in your chip.
BIKE: You must wear a shirt. Your helmet must be on and buckled. You must mount/dismount after/before the timing pad. You should have your bib number on. Ride to the right. Pass on the left. No drafting.
RUN: You must wear a shirt and have your bib number on.
Your bib number is your entry to the picnic.
Awards will be distributed as soon as the results are available, probably by 10:45 a.m.
